The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) listed an estimate of 25 Billion Dollars a year in illicit animal trafficking. This estimate was listed in November 2003.The main suppliers being Africa and Asia.

The illegal trade actually generates 8.3 Billion dollars a year. I apologize for the confusion.
