It is hard to come up with an actual figure but some estimate an 18% energy and carbon reduction. This adds up from a total of 12% direct savings and 6% of indirect savings. Direct savings lists the following factors: conservation effects of demand response consumer information 2%, measurement of efficiency programs 1%, smart-grid enabled diagnostics in private and public buildings 3%, conservation voltage reduction 2%, electric vehicle support 2%.
