It varies by locatioon and also by building type. For instance, putting solar paneling on residential buildings in California would receive different tax incentives than commercial buildings in California and commerical buildings in California would receive different tax incentives than commercial buildings in Maryland. Below is a site where you can check the different tax incentives by location and building type. There’s also a lot of different types of incentive programs within those categories.
Also, keep in mind that if your solar panels produce more energy than the building actually uses, you can sell some of it back to the power company!
