There are many proven health benefits to drinking milk every day as it contains a healthy package of calcium and vitamins. But you should not discount alternative sources of these nutrients which are important in a balanced diet. An article from The Journal of Young Investigators suggests to cap your intake at 3- 8 oz glasses daily. Other good sources of calcium include turnips, almonds, and watercress, all of which contain more calcium than milk. Many campaigns urge people to drink lots of milk, but a balanced diet containing essential vitamins and minerals can be obtained with moderate intake of milk.
