In 2010, consumers in the United States used 81,120,000,000 pounds of red meat and poultry, which includes turkey, cattle, sheep, chickens, and hogs.  Excluding seafood and other protein sources.  (In 2009, 8.2% of meat consumptin in the U.S. was fish. http://www.meatami.com/ht/d/sp/i/47465/pid/47465)And according to the 2010 U.S. Census, there were 308,745,538 people in the U.S. in 2010.

So, assuming the average american is a carbivore or at the least an omnivore, the per capita consumption of red meat and poultry in any form in 2010 was 262.74 pounds! This number excludes entrails, the head, hide, and internal organs.
