How much longer do we live now than in 1900?

    Though it depends on where in the world you lived, the average life expectancy in 1900 is estimated at 47 years. CIA world factbook estimates that the 2010 life expectancy for Americans is 78.24 years. So on average, people today live about 31 years longer than they did in 1900.

    Just on a side note, Manaco has the highest life expectancy of all countries, 89.78 years.
