I’m going to try and answer this as simply as possible, even though its a bit complicated. Look at the box your light came in. It should have an efficacy rating (the number of lumens) usually a high number. The lumens is the amount of light your bulb can give off. Now divide that number the the number of watts your lightbulb is, in this case 60W. We know that the average incandescent light bulb can only produce about 15 lumens per watt, so the left over lumens are wasted to heat. Hope this helps, its a bit confusing.
