    In 1999, the United States population was 272,690,813. Today, it is 304,059,724. The population has risen about 12 percent since 1999, according to these figures. The greatest change in any particular racial or ethnic demographic was among Hispanics. Ten years ago, Hispanics only constituted 12.5 percent of the population; now they constitute nearly 15.5 percent, a far greater increase than any other single demographic.
