How much has the recession cut emissions?

For 2009, global GDP growth is projected by the IMF to be a negative 2.5%. In the Stern review, carbon output tends to move .9% for every 1% change in GDP. The recession should therefore bring carbon output down by 2.25% in 2009. However, energy consumption and output has generally grown by 2.5% in the past 5 years, so overall, carbon output may still rise by .25% in 2009.
