How much has our renewable energy grown in the last decade?

According to some sources investments in renewable energy in 2005 was more than 5 times as much as back in 1995. In 1995 less then $10 billion was spent, while in 2005 around $40 billion. But this trend started to grow exponentially after 2005 and between 2005 and 2007 it almost doubled. Currently renewable energy provides around 14% of the world’s energy demands, but some projections shows that this will not significantly change in the upcoming 10 to 20 years, as demands will soar and renewable sources can not be deployed quickly enough to gain more market share.
