By how much has the number of chronically malnourished people in sub-Saharan Africa increased since the 1970’s?

Interesting question!  World hunger is definitely a growing problem.  In 1970, about 88 million Africans, or 35%, were malnourished.  This number increased to 200+ million by 2000 which is still about 35% due to population growth.
