The government gives out tax breaks to people who have ENERGY STAR appliances, solar panels, homes, or cars. They will pay 30%, up to $1500 for energy efficient insulation, windows, doors, heating and cooling, etc. in the home. People who install renewable sources of energy in the home, such as geothermal vents or solar panels, can receive a 30% tax break if they’re placed in service before 2016. For hybrid cars, tax breaks depend on the fuel economy and other things. Plug in electric vehicles can receive tax breaks between $2500 and $7500.
