How much water gets saved every year with low flow toilets?

With the reduction in water flushed from 3.5 gallons to 1.6 (or 0.8 gallons with “ultra low flow” toilets), a family of four is expected to save 16,000 gallons per year. There are also dual flush toilets that manage solid waste and liquid waste separately, and those are said to save even more water.
