Despite the fact that this answer will vary from race to race and event to event, we can come to certain conclusions based on the stringent requirements that the SAE racers have to face. As their cars rarely weigh more than 500 pounds, and are restricted to a 600cc engine, we can assume similar efficiency to motorcycles, which can get as high as 50 mpg’s, even on enhancement tuned sportsbikes, if not driven too insanely. Since the speed limit for the endurance race is 30mph, I can’t image all that much fuel will be used.
