How much fiber do we need in our daily diet?

    The recommended daily intake of fiber is between 25 to 30 grams a day.  This will vary however depending on your age, weight and other individual factors.

         The Harvard School of Public Health recommends that adult women should try to eat over 20g of fiber a day and adult men should try to eat over 30g.  Foods rich in fiber include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. A healthy fiber intake helps reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and divierticulitis.
