How much energy would be saved if they would not light the NYC Rockefeller tree?

The Rockafeller tree uses about 3,510 kilowatts of energy per day.  That’s more than enough to power a 2,000 sq foot house for a whole month.  Recently the New York municipality has decided to replace the traditional incandescent bulbs on the tree with more energy efficient LED bulbs.  The change will reduce the energy requirement to about 1500 KWH per day.
