Most of the energy loss from cell phones comes from throwing them away (loss of all the energy it took to produce it since it will now be sitting in a dump), leaving the charger plugged in when you’re no longer charging your cell, or leaving your cell phone to charge even after it’s done charging (this reduces battery life, increasing energy consumption.)
