There’s some really interesting information on this topic located at the first link listed below. Part way down the page the author notes that savings on some of Chicago’s “big buildings” reveals a 10 percent reduction in AC needs. Smaller buildings can save up to 95 percent in heat, and 25-50 percent in cooling.
Near the bottom of the article it’s noted that “green roofs have consistently been proven to reduce heating and cooling costs by up to 25-50%”
