How much energy do we use that comes from the ocean?

Currently, there are no major wave energy farms, marine current power plants, ocean thermal energy conversion plants, osmotic power plants, or tidal power plants in United States. There are some local projects, like the tide power turbine in East River in New York City, or osmotic generation in a mine in New Mexico, but those are usually trials or are of insignificant effect compared to the total energy production. Sometimes offshore wind farms are counted as well, but we don’t have those in US either.
