The largest tidal power turbine is located in Ireland and is producing an average of 5MWh (million watt hours) of electricity for every 6.5 hours of ebb/flow tide. This is enough electricity to power 1500 homes. The UK-manufactured SeaGen has already delivered over 350 MWh of power into the northern Ireland energy grid. Other facilities include a 240 MWe (mega watts electrical) one in France, a 20MWe in Canada, and several smaller ones in China that produce 5mWw.
