How much energy do night lights need?

It depends on what kind of night light it is. If you’re using a traditional incandescant bulb then you would use 56 watt-hours in 8 hours of use (that’s 20.5 kWh per year). If you’re using a newer LED bulb it would be .73 kWh a year.

You can also look for energy-efficient night lights. I’ve discovered some models online that were tested and use from a quarter of a watt to four watts.
