Today, the »true cost« of solar power is under 25¢ per kWh in most locations and is likely to reach 10¢ to 15¢ per kWh by 2010.
Right now it cost 25 cents per kw, but the price will drop because solar panels are becoming easier and easier to make. The smallest system a solar installer will sell to their customers is a 1kw system, which roughly cost 10,000, the next big system after that is a 3kw system which cost $25,000 (these systems don’t include batteries, if you want to add batteries you are looking at adding $5,000-$10,000 more).
