At the current rate of growth, the population of America is expected to reach about 400 million people in 2050. Currently the US population is at roughly 305 million people. The population is expected to increase by around 1.3 million people a year, based on these expectations. Much of this is due to immigration, because the fertility rate has slowed in recent years.
