That all depends on one’s consumption/disposal habits. One need not create any waste at all in a year (if one lives as the “leavers” do — and just returns whatever one takes from nature back to the source — but that’d be extremely tough in this modern capitalist world we live in). It all depends on the individuals lifestyle: According to this chart it is about 720 pounds of waste per year for an American, but only 310 pounds of garbage for someone from Mexico or the Czech Republic.
