How much does a LEED building save with energy over a regular building?

It depends on the type of building and design. Buildings can recieve credit for up to 45% energy reduction (based on modeling of a similar building without energy saving systems) under Energy and Atmosphere credits. There are variables of the buildings size, use, location and whether or not it has green and alternative energy sources. It is also possible to achieve LEED certification without accomplishing any of the Energy credits aside from the required Pre-reqs.
