How much land does it take to grow a cow?

The amount of land required to raise a cow varies from place to place, depending on how efficiently the farmland is used to grow feed.  The number of acres needed per cow in Iowa, for instance, is 3.3.  On the other side of spectrum, we have South Dakota, coming in at 14.9 acres needed per cow.

    Hope this helps!
