How much energy does it save to unplug power cords?

Standby power can account for 5-10 percent of total residential energy consumption in a year. It can reach up to 22 percent of all appliance consumption and keeping your things plugged in (aka your phone charger, tv, radios, toasters, etc) when not in use can cost a total of $3 billion in annual energy costs. So, unplug those appliances and save energy and yourself some money!
