How much coal do they get from blowing up a mountain top?

Coal yields would vary from mountain top to mountain top. However, the total coal coming from mountain top removal only account for less than 5% of total coal production in 2001. In some regions though, the percentage is higher, for example mountain top removal provided 30% of the coal mined in West Virginia in 2006.
