How much water do leaky toilets waste each year?

A single leaky toilet can waste around 200 gallons of water a day. 525,600 gallons of water can be wasted a year on that same leaky toilet. An easy way to see if you have a leak is to lift the tank lid and dye the water. If the water changes color in the bowl you have a leak. Leaky toilets account for 28 percent of every 30 gallons wasted in a household.
