How much food do food banks store at a time?

Food banks typically don’t stock very large amounts of food because they can’t always get a lot of food in advance. Food banks rely on local grocery stores for donations as well as other local restaurants. They will take what they can get, and they don’t always have enough of the food they need and they have to improvise. Many food banks go day to day to figure out what to serve.
