New Zealand has a much milder climate than Australia. Whilst New Zealand is a largely green country, Australia is largely desert, of semi-arid.
New Zealand receives much more rainfall than Australia does. A huge amount of inland Australia is desert; in fact, the vast majority of the Australian population lives on the coastline. In contrast, New Zealand is covered in vegetation, even jungles -or was, before much of it was cleared for grazing land.
There are some very unusual “jungles” in New Zealand that grow only meters away from gigantic glaciers! I went to Franz-Josef glacier personally and I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.
