I don’t think anyone compiled separate statistics for denim. The best I can find is the Environmental Protection Agency’s annual reports on municipal solid waste where denim would fall under the ‘textiles’ category together with many other products. A total of 12,370 tons were produced in 2008, out of which 1,890 were recovered. That’s about 15.3% of the total. The actual numbers for denim are much lower than the total for textiles, but you can expect the percentage that was recycled to be about the same.
