How much to cows contribute to climate change?

“A scientific report published in California last week claimed that dairy cows in the area were producing almost 20 pounds (in weight, that’s almost 10 kg) of gas every year, each.” The gas that cows produce from burping and farting is primarily methane. A normal amount of methane is fine but in excessive amounts, it can do a lot of damage to the environment in terms of global warming. “Methane, while less prevalent in the air than carbon dioxide, is 23 times more potent as a heat-trapping gas, the FAO report says.” Thankfully, there are some ways that we can help cows burp less.
