According to the Iowa Corn Grower’s Association, farmers average around 182 bushels per acre. A bushel of corn is 56 pounds of shelled corn.
With the future possibility of vertical farming, techinically as much corn as the vertical farming unit can support and the sky is literally the limit. If built, a 59 hectare vertical farm on 1 acre of land can support up to 10,738 bushels of corn.
