About 18.6 million tonnes of coal are taken out of the earth every day in the world.  The United States produces around 2.9 million tonnes a day and China produces the most at around 7.6 million tonnes per day.  At the current rate of consumption our coal reserves will last around 130 years, but with all of the movement towards alternative energies hopefully they will last for longer.
