How much CO2 generated by burning wood, dung etc in domestic cookers etc in the ‘third’world

The amount of CO2 released from burning traditional fuels like wood are far higher than most realize. In order to heat an average 2500 square foot house on wood would require 62 acres of fuel regrown continuously. This releases immense amounts of energy, 40 percent of which is usually lost. Calculations have found heating your home with wood can be just as efficient as modern gas or oil heating systems.
