In 2002, the US produced about 91 million metric tons of hydraulic cement. In 2003, about 94 million metric tons, in 2004, about 99 million metric tons, in 2005, about 100 million metric tons, and in 2006, about 99 million metric tons.
Hope this helps!
To add some perspective, US cement production (down to 73 million metric tons in 2009 thanks to the recession) is routinely third most in the world. India, at #2, produces more than twice as much as the US, and #1 China produces almost 20 times as much cement as the US (and half of all the cement in the world).
