How much carbon do I produce flying across the country?

0.97 lbs of carbon dioxide are emitted per passenger mile of air travel. This is calculated using average fuel consumption per mile and dividing it by the average number of passengers. So for a cross country trip, which is approximately 3,000 miles (it could be more or less depending on your exact travel route), 2,910 lbs of carbon dioxide are emitted. Hope this helps.
