Carbon emissions credits are essentially a commodity, and, like any other commodity, the price fluctuates depending on market conditions. It also depends on the exact carbon credits you are trading, because they are different insofar as when they were issued and what they allow you to do. The website for the Chicago Climate Exchange, a trading exchange of voluntary carbon emissions credits, provides a streaming ticker of carbon emission price data. Looking at it today (February 24), I see certain types of credits trading at anywhere from $0.10 to $75.40 depending on the type and where it is traded. There are also major exchanges in Europe.
