How much energy can weatherizing my home save?

What you need is an energy audit. Many utility companies or local governments will offer these for free; there was money allocated for this purpose in the Recovery Act. An auditor will come out to your house check your appliances, your windows, insulation, and maybe even take a thermal picture to find energy leaks. Then you’ll be able determine what improvements you can do, how much they’ll cost and how much you’ll save.
