How much can we reduce our fish catches before going hungry?

Honestly, unless you’re living in a village or town that relies heavily on fish for food, eating fish is a bit of a luxury. I don’t want to say that it’s something that only the wealthy can afford, but rather that it isn’t a necessity for us. It is nice to eat fish every once in a while, but we’re simply overfishing because the ships we use collect fish faster than nature can replenish the source. Most countries could easily reduce the amount of fish we collect without starving, mostly because there are other resources available (particularly with cows, pigs, and poultry). By raising the prices of fish, we’d cut back on how much we buy, and therefore how much we collect from the ocean. Regulations on the number of fish you are allowed to catch that are actually enforced would also help immensely.
