How much can walking decrease my carbon footprint?

That depends on how often you replace driving with walking and what type of vehicle you drive. The EPA concludes that a gallon of gasoline on average emits about 19.4 pounds of CO2. This is an average and the actual amount of emissions from your vehicle may vary. But on average for every gallon of gasoline you prevent from being used for fuel you prevent 19.4 pounds of CO2 from being released in to the atmosphere, which can build up quickly. Walking is also much healthier for you.
