The answer to this question is a great deal. When pollution enters the air, air quality is severely diminished, which poses a variety of problems to a variety of sources. Because pollution so greatly affects the air, the Environmental Protection Agency has had to create something called the Air Quality Index, a tool that allows people to determine how polluted their air is. Higher levels of pollution within the air means a lower air quality. The scale ranges from 0-500, and anything above 300 is hazardous for humans’ health.
