Every animal in the world is adapted to live in a specific habitat, with a certain climate. As local climates in place around the world change as a result of global warming, many animals will no longer be able to survive in their current habitat, and risk going extinct. Some species may be able to adapt to changing conditions or migrate to new areas, but many will not be able to adapt or migrate at the fast rate climate change is occurring. Compounding the problem is the fact that development and other human activities have isolated many animal habitats, making migration difficult or impossible. To save as many animal species, we must immediately begin curbing global greenhouse emissions to prevent the worst effects of global warming.
