LED’s are considered to be vastly more efficient than incandescent lights, mainly because incandescent lights contain a filament with a limited lifespan that will burn out and need to be replaced. LED’s function purely by motion of electrons. The trouble with LED’s is that it’s difficult to produce LED’s that will yield a lot of brightness; the light from a standard LED is equivalent to that from a 35-watt incandescent, at best. In a comparison study, C9 and C7 incandescent lights beat out LED’s in brightness by a factor of five to six times.
