How much bigger is the Sahara than the next largest desert?

    The Sahara Desert has a surface area of 3.5 million square miles.  The next largest desert, the Arabian Desert, has a surface area of 900,000 square miles.  Thus the Sahara Desert is 2.6 million square miles larger.
