Up until about 50 years ago, the Jordan River’s yearly flow was over 1.3 billion cubic meters. By 2005, the river’s flow had decreased to just 100 million cubic meters. About 20 percent was untreated sewage. In 2008, the annual flow was only around 70,000 cubic meters.
