The average American eats 67 pounds of beef each year.  This is broken down into 28 pounds of ground beef, 13 pounds of steak, 9 pounds of processed beef, 8 pounds of beef stew, seven pounds of beef dishes, and five pounds of other beef cuts.  This is above the recommended amount of beef eaten.  It is recommended that on average a person eats 5.5 ounces of lean beaf and beans a day.
