Nuclear power contributes a very substantial amount of energy to the United States. About one fifth (20 percent) of energy comes from nuclear power. This compares to 44 percent from coal and 24 percent from natual gas.
About 20% of US electricity comes from nuclear power. Presently, the source of all US nuclear power is from uranium. This is a relatively low percentage, compared with other first world countries.
