Although algae is not currently in commercial production as a biofuel, many universities, companies and other organizations have been experimenting with the possibility of algae fuel. Algae can grow in any water source, can absorb far more CO2 then normal plants during photosynthesis and produces nearly 15 times more useful bio-oils than plants in a single hectare. On April 12th and 13th in India there will be an international conference to discuss the progress of algae as a possible commercial fuel for the future.
